HOME 5 Applied Tools 5 Data Visualization Dashboard

The Data Visualization Dashboard is one of a suite of applied Community Well-being tools developed by SGIGs to form part of the online Data Governance and Management toolkit.

The dashboard offers a dynamic, interactive, and comprehensive way for SGIGs to navigate and utilize data, facilitating a deeper understanding of the well-being indicators relevant to each SGIG. A webinar is available to provide further information, a demonstration of the dashboard, and guidance about this tool.

Why use a dashboard?

Data reporting is the critical process of synthesizing collected information into digestible, actionable insights, serving a wide range of stakeholders, from policymakers to the general public. Traditionally, reporting has been confined to static formats such as printed reports or digital documents. However, the evolution of technology has introduced a more dynamic and engaging method of presenting data: interactive web tools.

Interactive web tools revolutionize reporting by allowing users to engage with the data through a customizable, user-friendly interface. These tools offer the flexibility to explore data through various visualizations like graphs, charts, and maps, making complex information more accessible and understandable. They cater to diverse audiences by allowing them to drill down into specific details or zoom out for an overview according to the user’s interest and expertise.

In this Tool, reporting is embodied in a specialized dashboard designed to cater to each SGIGs needs.

The dashboard allows for:

  • Customization: Alignment with SGIGs’ specific well-being goals, allowing targeted monitoring of relevant indicators.
  • Interactivity: Facilitates real-time data exploration with tools for filtering, dynamic charts, and historical data analysis to uncover trends and patterns.
  • Accessibility: User-friendly for all skill levels, ensuring stakeholders can easily gain insights without complex training.
  • Real-Time Updates: Keeps data current, providing SGIGs with up-to-date information for informed decision-making and progress tracking.
